Perseus (mythological hero)
Perseus is a celebrated hero from Greek mythology known for slaying the Gorgon Medusa, a creature with serpents for hair whose gaze turned people to stone. Son of Zeus and Danaë, he was tasked with retrieving Medusa’s head, which grants the power to turn enemies to stone. Using a mirrored shield from Athena, winged sandals from Hermes, a helm of invisibility from Hades, and a sword, Perseus successfully defeated Medusa and used her head as a weapon to save others and complete his quests. His adventures exemplify bravery, ingenuity, and divine assistance in mythic heroism.
