Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO)

Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) is an initiative by the European Union aimed at enhancing defense collaboration among member states. Established in 2017, it allows countries that are willing and able to engage in deeper military cooperation to work together on defense projects and capabilities. This includes joint training, development of military assets, and security operations, thus strengthening Europe’s security and defense capabilities. PESCO helps member states coordinate their efforts, pool resources, and address common security challenges more effectively, ultimately contributing to a more autonomous European defense policy.
