Pepsi Challenge
The Pepsi Challenge was a marketing test conducted by Pepsi in the 1970s and 1980s to compare consumer preferences between Pepsi and Coca-Cola. Participants were invited to taste both sodas in blind tests, without knowing which was which, and then choose their favorite. The results showed many preferred Pepsi over Coke, which Pepsi used in ads to boost its market position. The challenge highlighted the importance of taste perception and consumer choice, influencing competitive marketing strategies in the soft drink industry.
