PEPFAR
PEPFAR, or the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, is a U.S. government initiative launched in 2003 to address the global HIV/AIDS epidemic. It provides funding and resources to support prevention, treatment, and care services, primarily in countries with high rates of HIV infection. PEPFAR aims to improve health systems, expand access to antiretroviral therapy, and reduce the stigma associated with the disease. To date, it has helped millions of people live healthier lives and has significantly contributed to the decline of new HIV infections worldwide.
