People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI)

The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), also known as MEK, is an Iranian political-military organization founded in the 1960s. It initially aimed to overthrow Iran’s ruling government and establish a democratic alternative, combining Islamic ideals with socialist principles. Over the years, it has engaged in armed resistance and advocacy against the Iranian regime. The group is controversial; some consider it a terrorist organization, while others see it as a resistance movement fighting for democratic change. Today, most of its members are based outside Iran, particularly in Albania and other countries, and it continues to campaign for regime change in Iran.
