Penrose Stairs

The Penrose Stairs is an optical illusion resembling a staircase that appears to endlessly ascend or descend in a continuous loop, defying normal physics and geometry. Created by mathematician Roger Penrose, it depicts a paradoxical shape where each step seems to be both rising and falling simultaneously. Our brain interprets the shape as a real, physical staircase due to shallow cues, but in reality, such a structure can't exist in three-dimensional space. The illusion highlights how our perception can be tricked by perspective and visual clues, emphasizing the difference between visual perception and physical reality.
