Penalty Shootout

A penalty shootout is a tiebreaker in sports, particularly soccer, used when a match ends in a draw after regular and extra time. Teams take turns attempting to score goals from a designated spot, 12 yards from the goal, with just the goalkeeper defending. Each team usually gets five attempts to score. If the score remains tied after these initial shots, the shootout continues in a sudden-death format, where teams alternate shots until one team scores and the other does not. The objective is to determine the winner in a high-pressure, decisive scenario.
