
Pelopidas
Pelopidas was an ancient Greek military and political leader from Thebes, active around 370 BC. He was renowned for his bravery and leadership in fighting against Spartan dominance and for helping Thebes rise to power. Pelopidas notably led campaigns to free Greece from Spartan control and played a key role in the Battle of Leuctra, which significantly weakened Sparta's army. He was also a close friend of the famous general Epaminondas. His efforts helped establish Thebes as a major Greek power, and he is remembered as a symbol of patriotism and strategic skill in Greek history.
