Pediatric HLH
Pediatric Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare, severe condition in children where the immune system becomes overly active and attacks the body’s own tissues and organs. This overreaction causes inflammation, fever, swollen lymph nodes, and can lead to organ damage if not treated promptly. HLH can be triggered by infections, genetic factors, or other illnesses. It requires urgent medical attention with treatments aimed at controlling the immune response and addressing the underlying cause to prevent serious complications or death.
