Pediatric ECLS
Pediatric ECLS (Extracorporeal Life Support) is a medical technology that temporarily takes over the functions of a child's heart and lungs when they are severely weakened or failing. Blood is circulated outside the body through machines that oxygenate it and remove waste, then pumped back into the child's bloodstream. This provides critical support, allowing the heart and lungs to rest and heal. ECLS is used in urgent situations like severe lung or heart problems and is typically provided in specialized intensive care units by trained medical teams.
