Patellar tendonitis

Patellar tendonitis, also known as jumper's knee, is an injury involving inflammation of the patellar tendon, which connects the kneecap (patella) to the shinbone (tibia). It typically results from repetitive stress or overuse, especially in activities like jumping, running, or squatting. This condition causes pain just below the kneecap, swelling, and tenderness, making movement painful. It affects athletes and active individuals, but proper rest, ice, stretching, and strengthening exercises usually aid recovery. In some cases, persistent symptoms may require medical treatment or physical therapy to restore normal function.
