Parliament of Hanover

The Parliament of Hanover refers to the legislative body in the Kingdom of Hanover, which existed from 1814 until 1866, when Hanover was annexed by Prussia. Established after the Napoleonic Wars, it was an assembly where representatives discussed and passed laws. The parliament had limited powers, operating under a constitutional monarchy, and was significant for promoting liberal reforms and local governance. Its dissolution marked the end of Hanover as an independent state and the incorporation of its territory into the expanding Prussian state, influencing regional politics in Northern Germany.
