Parham, Charles Fox

Charles Fox Parham (1873-1929) was an American preacher and evangelist, known as a key figure in the early Pentecostal movement. He is credited with promoting the belief that speaking in tongues is a sign of receiving the Holy Spirit. Parham founded Bethel Bible College in Kansas, where he taught this doctrine. His teachings and revival meetings inspired many, leading to the Azusa Street Revival in 1906, which further spread Pentecostalism. Parham's emphasis on direct spiritual experiences has had a lasting impact on many contemporary Christian denominations today.
