Panslavism

Panslavism is a cultural and political movement advocating for unity among Slavic peoples, who share linguistic, historical, and cultural ties. Emerging in the 19th century, it aimed to promote solidarity and cooperation among Slavic nations within and beyond the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman empires. The movement sought to strengthen Slavic identity and influence, sometimes advocating for political unification or greater independence from dominant powers. While rooted in shared heritage, Panslavism also had political implications, influencing national movements and regional politics in Eastern Europe.
