Pangea

Pangaea was a supercontinent that existed about 335 to 175 million years ago. It combined most of the Earth's landmasses into a single giant landmass. Over millions of years, tectonic plates gradually moved due to Earth's internal heat and convection currents, causing Pangaea to break apart into the continents we recognize today. This process, known as continental drift, explains the current placement of continents and the similarities in fossil and geological records across distant landmasses. Pangaea's existence helps scientists understand Earth's dynamic nature and the ongoing movement of its crust.
