Pacemaker

A pacemaker is a small medical device implanted in the chest to help regulate abnormal heart rhythms. It sends electrical signals to stimulate the heart when its natural electrical system isn't working properly, ensuring a steady and normal heartbeat. Pacemakers are used for conditions like arrhythmias, where the heart beats too slowly or irregularly. They consist of a pulse generator and leads that connect to the heart muscle. Modern pacemakers are device-programmable, allowing doctors to adjust settings for individual needs, and they usually last several years before needing replacement.
