P-selectin

P-selectin is a protein found on the surface of certain cells, primarily platelets and blood vessel lining cells, that plays a key role in immune response and blood clotting. When there’s injury or inflammation, P-selectin helps small immune cells called leukocytes stick to blood vessel walls, allowing them to travel to the affected area. It also promotes the formation of blood clots by helping platelets clump together. Essentially, P-selectin acts as an early signal that assists the body in managing injury, inflammation, and healing processes.
