Pádraig Pearse

Pádraig Pearse was an Irish teacher, poet, and nationalist leader born in 1879. He passionately fought for Ireland’s independence from British rule and helped promote Irish culture and language. Pearse played a key role in the 1916 Easter Rising, an armed attempt to declare Irish independence, and he also helped organize the rebellion.
