Over-education

Over-education occurs when individuals have more education or skills than their job requires. This often happens when highly educated workers accept jobs that don't fully utilize their knowledge, leading to a mismatch between qualifications and job demands. It can result in underemployment, lower job satisfaction, and reduced productivity for both workers and employers. Over-education doesn’t necessarily mean someone is overqualified; instead, it reflects a situation where the level of education exceeds what is needed for effective performance in a particular role.
