Oslo II Accord
The Oslo II Accord, signed in 1995, was a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It aimed to gradually transfer governing control of parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Authority, establishing frameworks for future negotiations on final status issues like borders and refugees. The accord also committed both sides to reduce violence and recognize each other's rights. While it marked a significant step toward peace, many issues remained unresolved, and conflicts continued, making it a key, but incomplete, chapter in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
