Oslo I Accord

The Oslo I Accord, signed in 1993, was a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It aimed to improve relations, establish a framework for future negotiations, and gradually transfer certain responsibilities to the Palestinians in parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The accord recognized the PLO as the representative of the Palestinian people and laid the groundwork for later agreements. While it created hope for peaceful coexistence, many of its terms remain unresolved, and the conflict continues today. The Oslo I Accord was a significant step toward attempting a negotiated peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
