Organic Phase

In chemistry, an organic phase refers to a layer of liquid that contains organic compounds—substances based on carbon, such as oils, fats, or solvents. When a mixture is separated, the organic phase often appears as a distinct layer, usually less dense or immiscible with water. This layer is used to extract, purify, or analyze organic substances from other components. Think of it as the "oil" layer in a mixture, where the organic chemicals are dissolved and can be separated for further use or study.
