Ordinal Numbers
Ordinal numbers are used to indicate the position or order of items in a sequence, such as first, second, third, and so on. They tell us *where* something stands relative to others, rather than *how many* there are. For example, in a race, the person who finishes first is in the top position, and the second is next, and so forth. Ordinal numbers are helpful in organizing and identifying items in order, whether it's lining up, ranking, or arranging items by position. They are different from cardinal numbers, which specify quantity.
