Ointments

Ointments are thick, greasy substances used for applying on the skin. They typically contain a mix of oils and fats that help to moisturize and protect skin, making them useful for healing wounds, treating rashes, or relieving dryness. Unlike creams or lotions, ointments provide a barrier that keeps moisture in and bacteria out. They are often used for medicinal purposes, such as delivering medications directly to the skin. Because of their consistency, ointments may take longer to absorb but can be more effective for certain skin conditions.
