Oil Fires

Oil fires occur when flammable crude oil or petroleum products catch fire and burn intensely, often due to accidents like pipeline ruptures, blowouts, or sabotage. These fires produce enormous heat, thick black smoke, and harmful pollutants, making them difficult to extinguish. They release large amounts of carbon dioxide and other toxins, impacting the environment and health. Specialized firefighting methods, such as limited cooling, foam application, and sometimes sealing or capping the source, are used to control them. Oil fires are dangerous, requiring prompt and expert intervention to minimize damage and pollution.
