Ohrid Agreement
The Ohrid Agreement is a peace deal signed in 2001 in North Macedonia to address ethnic tensions between the majority Macedonian population and the Albanian minority. It aimed to promote equality, improve rights, and prevent conflict by granting greater political representation, cultural recognition, and decentralization of government powers to diverse communities. Essentially, it was designed to foster peace and coexistence by ensuring all ethnic groups have a fair role in the country's governance and society.
