Ocular diseases
Ocular diseases are conditions that affect the health and function of the eye. They can involve the cornea, lens, retina, optic nerve, or other parts, leading to symptoms like vision changes, pain, or discomfort. Common examples include glaucoma (increased eye pressure damaging the optic nerve), age-related macular degeneration (degeneration of the central retina causing vision loss), cataracts (clouding of the lens), and diabetic retinopathy (damage to retinal blood vessels from diabetes). Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent vision loss, and regular eye exams help detect these issues before they worsen.
