O'Connor's Law (legal principle)

O'Connor's Law, often related to contract law, states that a party cannot avoid its contractual obligations by claiming a misunderstanding about a contract's terms if that misunderstanding was self-induced or unreasonable. In other words, if someone enters into an agreement and later realizes they misunderstood its terms due to their own lack of attention or care, they typically can't back out of the contract. This principle encourages parties to be diligent in understanding their agreements and reinforces the importance of clear communication and careful review before finalizing contracts.
