NVA (North Vietnamese Army)

The North Vietnamese Army (NVA) was the military force of North Vietnam during the Vietnam War, officially known as the Vietnam People's Army. It played a crucial role in the conflict against South Vietnam and its principal ally, the United States. The NVA was a regular army, structured and disciplined, unlike the irregular guerrilla forces of the Viet Cong. It participated in significant battles and campaigns, ultimately contributing to the fall of Saigon in 1975, which marked the end of the war and the reunification of Vietnam under communist control.
