Nucleon interactions
Nucleon interactions refer to the forces and interactions between nucleons, which are the particles found in an atomic nucleus: protons and neutrons. These interactions are primarily governed by the strong nuclear force, one of the four fundamental forces of nature. The strong force binds nucleons together, overcoming their electromagnetic repulsion (since protons are positively charged). This interaction keeps the nucleus stable and allows atoms to exist. Understanding nucleon interactions is essential for explaining nuclear reactions, such as those in nuclear power and the processes that fuel the sun.
