Nouri al-Maliki

Nouri al-Maliki is an Iraqi politician who served as the Prime Minister of Iraq from 2006 to 2014. He played a key role in rebuilding Iraq after the 2003 invasion and is a member of the Shia Muslim political party. His leadership focused on consolidating power, securing the country against insurgents, and managing sectarian tensions. While he is credited with helping stabilize parts of Iraq, his tenure also faced criticism for centralizing authority and alleged favoritism toward Shia groups, which contributed to ongoing divisions in Iraqi society.
