North Caucasian languages
North Caucasian languages are a diverse group of languages spoken mainly in the North Caucasus region of Russia, including the areas around the Caucasus Mountains. They are known for their complex phonetic and grammatical structures and are generally divided into two main families: Northeast Caucasian and Northwest Caucasian. These languages are often characterized by rich consonant systems and extensive use of consonant clusters. They are not mutually intelligible and vary greatly among their speakers. Despite these differences, they share some features due to geographical proximity, playing a vital role in the cultural and linguistic diversity of the Caucasus area.
