Norm-Referenced Test

A Norm-Referenced Test (NRT) is an assessment designed to measure a person's performance relative to a group, often referred to as the "norm" group. Instead of focusing solely on whether someone meets a specific standard, an NRT compares an individual's results to those of others, revealing where they stand within a larger population. For example, if you take a general knowledge quiz, your score might indicate whether you performed better or worse than most other test-takers, helping to identify strengths and areas for improvement against a wider benchmark.
