Noor Mohammad Taraki (politician)
Noor Mohammad Taraki was an Afghan politician and revolutionary leader who served as the Prime Minister and later as the President of Afghanistan during the late 1970s. He was a key figure in the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan, which advocated for Marxist-Leninist ideologies. In 1978, Taraki initiated significant social and economic reforms in Afghanistan, including land redistribution and women's rights. However, his government faced resistance and conflict, leading to increasing instability.
