Non-IgE-mediated Reactions

Non-IgE-mediated reactions are allergic responses that don't involve the antibody called Immunoglobulin E (IgE). Instead, these reactions are caused by other parts of the immune system or direct effects on body tissues, leading to symptoms like inflammation, stomach upset, or skin issues. They often develop more gradually and can be more difficult to diagnose than IgE-mediated allergies. Examples include certain food intolerances or reactions to medications that don’t trigger typical allergy signs like hives or immediate swelling. Overall, they involve immune or tissue responses but bypass the usual IgE pathway.
