Nizam Shahis
The Nizam Shahis were a dynasty that ruled the Sultanate of Ahmadnagar in western India from the late 15th to the early 17th centuries. They established a Muslim-ruled kingdom during a period of regional fragmentation and resisted larger empires like the Mughals for some time. Known for promoting art, architecture, and trade, they played a significant role in the Deccan's history. Their rule ended when the Mughal Empire expanded into the region, leading to the integration of Ahmadnagar into Mughal territory.
