Nipkow (Paul Nipkow)
Paul Nipkow was a German engineer who invented the Nipkow disk in 1884, a key early technology for transmitting images electronically. The Nipkow disk is a rotating perforated disk that scans images line by line, converting visual patterns into electrical signals. This invention laid the groundwork for early television systems by enabling the transmission and display of moving images. Although modern television no longer uses the Nipkow disk, his work was fundamental in developing electronic TV technology, making visual communication over distances possible.
