Nimitz-class aircraft carriers

Nimitz-class aircraft carriers are a class of nuclear-powered warships used by the United States Navy. Launched in the 1970s, they are among the largest warships in the world, designed to carry and launch a variety of aircraft for military operations. Each carrier typically has a crew of about 5,000 personnel and can operate over 60 aircraft, including fighter jets and helicopters. Their nuclear propulsion allows for extended deployment without refueling, enhancing their strategic flexibility. Nimitz-class carriers serve as floating airbases, projecting power and providing support during conflicts and humanitarian missions.
