Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP)

The Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) was a political party established in Nigeria in 1919. It was one of the earliest groups advocating for Nigerian self-governance during British colonial rule. The NNDP aimed to promote Nigerian interests, improve political participation, and challenge colonial authorities. Led by prominent figures like Herbert Macaulay, it played a key role in the early political development of Nigeria, helping to shape the foundation for future nationalist movements. Although it was short-lived, the NNDP marked an important step towards Nigeria’s struggle for independence and self-determination.
