Nguyen Dynasty
The Nguyen Dynasty was the last ruling family of Vietnam, reigning from 1802 to 1945. Founded by Emperor Gia Long, they unified the country after periods of division and maintained imperial rule through a centralized government. During their reign, Vietnam experienced significant modernization, including reforms in infrastructure, education, and administration, often influenced by French colonization. The dynasty faced internal rebellion and external pressures, ultimately ending with Japan's occupation during World War II and the subsequent rise of Vietnamese independence movements. Their rule shaped modern Vietnam’s history, culture, and borders.
