Newgrange
Newgrange is a prehistoric monument in County Meath, Ireland, built around 3200 BC, making it older than Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids. It is a circular passage tomb, composed of a large earth mound and a stone facade. The tomb is famous for its winter solstice alignment; each year, sunlight illuminates the inner chamber at dawn on December 21, marking the longest night of the year. Newgrange is considered a significant cultural and archaeological site, reflecting the sophisticated understanding of astronomy and construction by ancient communities in Ireland. It is part of the Brú na Bóinne UNESCO World Heritage Site.
