Neuroscience of vision

The neuroscience of vision explores how our eyes and brain work together to produce sight. Light enters the eye and hits the retina, where specialized cells called photoreceptors convert it into electrical signals. These signals travel through the optic nerve to the brain's visual cortex, located at the back of the brain. The brain then interprets these signals to recognize shapes, colors, depth, and motion, allowing us to perceive our environment.
