Neurogenic Tumors

Neurogenic tumors are growths that develop from nerve tissue or surrounding cells. They can occur anywhere in the nervous system, including nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. These tumors may be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Common types include schwannomas and neurofibromas, which often grow slowly and may cause symptoms like pain, nerve weakness, or tingling if they press on nearby structures. Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests and sometimes biopsy. Treatment depends on the tumor's type and location and may include monitoring, surgery, or other therapies to remove or control growth.
