Nepalese Civil War
The Nepalese Civil War (1996–2006) was a conflict between the government and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), who sought to overthrow the monarchy and establish a republic. The Maoists used guerrilla tactics, leading to widespread violence, loss of lives, and displacement. The war ended with a peace agreement, resulting in the abolition of the monarchy, the establishment of Nepal as a republic, and political reforms. The conflict was driven by issues of inequality, marginalization, and desire for greater social and economic justice.
