Neo-Realism and Neo-Liberalism

Neo-Realism and Neo-Liberalism are two theories in international relations. Neo-Realism focuses on the idea that the international system is anarchic, meaning there is no central authority, leading states to prioritize their security and power. It views conflicts largely as a result of this structure. In contrast, Neo-Liberalism emphasizes the importance of international institutions and cooperation. It argues that states can achieve mutual benefits through diplomacy, trade, and international organizations, even in an anarchic system. Both perspectives recognize the role of state behavior but differ in their views on cooperation and conflict.
