Neo-Freudians

Neo-Freudians are psychologists who built on Sigmund Freud’s ideas about the mind and human behavior but made important adjustments. They agree that unconscious processes and childhood experiences influence personality, but they emphasize social relationships, culture, and self-awareness more than Freud did. Thinkers like Carl Jung and Alfred Adler expanded theories to include personal growth and individual differences. While they maintain Freud’s focus on subconscious motivations, neo-Freudians often explore broader aspects of human development and are open to integrating other psychological ideas into their understanding of the mind.
