Negligence Law
Negligence law holds individuals or entities responsible for failing to exercise reasonable care, resulting in harm to others. To prove negligence, a plaintiff must show four key elements: a duty of care was owed, that duty was breached, the breach caused an injury, and damages resulted from the injury. For example, if a driver runs a red light and causes an accident, they may be found negligent. This legal framework aims to promote responsible behavior and ensure that victims can seek compensation for their injuries due to another’s carelessness.
