Negative Theology

Negative Theology is a way of understanding and describing God by focusing on what God is not, rather than attempting to define God’s exact nature. Since divine qualities often surpass human comprehension, this approach avoids limiting God with specific attributes, emphasizing that God's true essence is beyond human grasp. By negating all finite concepts—such as "God is not limited," "God is not material"—Negative Theology aims to approach a more genuine understanding of the divine mystery, fostering humility and recognition of the divine's transcendence beyond human knowledge.
