Navdanya

Navdanya is an organization founded by Indian scholar Vandana Shiva that promotes biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, and the conservation of traditional seeds. It advocates for farmers to maintain and use native seed varieties, reducing dependence on industrialized, genetically uniform crops. By encouraging organic farming practices and protecting water and soil health, Navdanya aims to empower local communities, ensure food sovereignty, and safeguard ecological balance. It also runs training programs, seed banks, and awareness campaigns to foster environmentally sustainable and socially just agricultural systems.
