Nature-inspired design
Nature-Inspired Design, often called biomimicry, is an approach that draws inspiration from the structures, processes, and ecosystems found in nature to solve human problems. It involves observing how nature has adapted over millions of years and applying those strategies to design products, buildings, and systems. For instance, studying how termite mounds regulate temperature has led to more energy-efficient buildings. By learning from nature's principles, designers aim to create more sustainable, efficient, and innovative solutions that harmonize with the environment rather than deplete it.
